Approaches No. 2 Flower - Pink Eucalyptus
Approaches No. 1 Pink Eucalyptus
For this week it is an easy painting, of an Australian native flower called a Eucalyptus. The point of this exercise is not to mimic my painting, but to make your artwork of a Eucalyptus. This is my approach to painting this flower in stages and everyone will have a different methodology. You will likely have a unique perception and approach to painting this artwork. There is no wrong way to do it. this is an small exercise to get into painting.
What I Used
Watercolour paints
Watercolour Ink
Paper, the best you can buy, this was painted on Arches paper
Pens
Steps
Step One - Draw a detailed pencil drawing.
Step Two - Paint a background with many layers, waiting for each layer to dry. When the background is the intensity of colour you want, start the next step which for me was the flowers.
Step Three - Finish the flowers, with shading.
Step Four - Start and finish the leaves before adding finishing touches. Because I took the photos at different times of the day, the background seems to be changing, I apologise for that.
